SMALLRIG 4299B Quick Release Phone Cage
The SmallRig 4299B Quick Release is a versatile phone cage designed for video recording, live streaming, and expanding your mobile video setup. The design supports the SmallRig Quick Release system and is also compatible with accessories that use the standard 1/4"-20 thread. For static shots, a MagSafe-enabled phone can be mounted directly to the magnetic base, while for smartphones without MagSafe or when shooting on the move, you can use the included clamp mount. The cage is compatible with phones ranging from 62.5 to 87 mm in width and up to 15 mm in thickness, even when the device is in a case.
Extensive Expansion Options
The SmallRig 4299B frame features 1/4"-20 threads and cold shoe mounts, allowing you to easily attach additional equipment needed during filming. The cage allows you to mount, among other things, a microphone, a light, a tripod, a side grip, or a top grip, enabling you to tailor the setup to the type of content you’re shooting. The improved design also includes an additional cold shoe mount, which allows for the compact mounting of additional modules, hubs, or receiving stations.
MagSafe and Clamp Mount
For compatible iPhones, you can use the MagSafe system during calm, static shots, making phone attachment quick and convenient. For more dynamic filming, we recommend using the included clamp mount, which provides a more secure hold on the device. This solution also works well with Android smartphones and other models without MagSafe, and the mount is designed so as not to block the phone’s side buttons.
Compatibility with 67 mm Filters
The SmallRig 4299B cage is compatible with the SmallRig 4843 67 mm filter adapter, which allows you to expand the kit with compatible magnetic filters. This allows you to conveniently adjust the setup to different lighting conditions and requirements while filming. As a result, the cage can serve as the foundation for both a simple phone filming setup and a more elaborate mobile rig with additional accessories.
Sturdy and Practical Design
The cage is made of aluminum alloy, plastic, and silicone, ensuring a rigid structure and adequate protection for the phone at the points of contact. Measuring 236 × 122 × 38.3 mm, it weighs approximately 242 g, so it doesn’t add excessive weight to your mobile filming setup.
