The GL.iNet Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) is a compact AX3000-class router that supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard and offers a total throughput of up to 2976 Mb/s. Thanks to its 1.3 GHz dual-core MT7981B processor, 512 MB of DDR4 RAM, and a high-speed 2.5G WAN port, the device delivers high performance for both everyday Internet use and VPN operations. The router achieves speeds of up to 574 Mb/s on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 2,402 Mb/s on the 5 GHz band, and with dimensions of just 120 × 83 × 34 mm, it remains a convenient travel companion.
Fast Wi-Fi 6
The Beryl AX leverages the capabilities of the Wi-Fi 6 standard, which significantly boosts wireless network performance compared to previous generations. OFDMA technology allows for the efficient handling of multiple devices simultaneously, while Beamforming improves signal range and stability. Additionally, the BSS Coloring feature helps reduce interference from neighboring networks, which is particularly important in apartment buildings and other areas with high Wi-Fi density.
Performance for the Whole Family and Multiple Devices
The router is designed for heavy Internet use. It supports simultaneous connections for over 70 devices, allowing it to easily handle 4K video streaming, remote work, online learning, and online gaming. The higher performance of Wi-Fi 6 translates to lower latency and smoother operation of services that require fast data transmission.
Advanced Protection with VPN
The device comes with built-in support for OpenVPN and WireGuard®, working with over 30 VPN service providers. The router automatically encrypts traffic from all connected devices, including those that do not have their own VPN support. The Beryl AX can also function as a VPN server and supports VPN Cascading, allowing simultaneous use of both a VPN client and a VPN server. The maximum connection bandwidth for WireGuard® is up to 300 Mb/s, while OpenVPN supports up to 150 Mb/s.
Powerful hardware in a pocket-sized form factor
At the heart of the device is a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT7981B processor, supported by 512 MB of DDR4 memory and 256 MB of NAND Flash memory. The router is equipped with a 2.5G WAN port, a gigabit LAN port, and a USB 3.0 port that allows you to connect external storage devices. Foldable external antennas improve signal quality, and USB-C power delivery makes it more convenient to use while traveling.
Your Own File Storage Space
Thanks to support for the SAMBA and WebDAV protocols, the router can function as a private data storage solution. By connecting an external drive to the USB 3.0 port, you can create local storage space for documents, photos, and videos. This allows you to conveniently access files from various devices on the network.
OpenWrt and Extensive Customization Options
The Beryl AX runs on OpenWrt 21.02 (Linux kernel 5.4), offering a user-friendly administrative interface for beginners and extensive configuration options for more advanced users. The platform supports over 5,000 ready-to-use plugins and packages that allow you to customize the router’s functionality to your individual needs.
Multi-layered network security
The router offers privacy and security protection mechanisms. It supports WPA3 encryption, as well as the DNS over HTTPS (DoH) and DNS over TLS (DoT) protocols, which help protect DNS traffic from eavesdropping. Additionally, integration with AdGuard Home is available, allowing you to block selected ads and tracking elements. The device also supports the IPv6 protocol, ensuring efficient network communication.
Ready for 5G expansion
The Beryl AX is compatible with the GL-M2 Development Board, which functions as a 5G modem. This solution enables mobile internet access via a SIM card, which is useful when traveling or in locations without access to traditional internet connections. Additionally, it supports Multi-WAN, failover, and load balancing features.
