The Trina Solar 450W photovoltaic panel is a module from the Vertex S+ series manufactured using N-type i-TOPCon technology, offering a maximum power output of 450 W, an efficiency of 22.8%, and a positive power tolerance of 0/+5 W. The double-glass construction (1.6 mm front + 1.6 mm back) increases durability, while the use of 144 cells and multi-busbar technology ensures stable and efficient operation. The panel measures 1762 × 1134 × 30 mm, weighs 21 kg, and achieves a very good Pmax temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C, which minimizes power loss at high temperatures.

Higher efficiency in practice thanks to N-type and MBB technology


The use of N-type cells in combination with i-TOPCon technology allows for more efficient conversion of solar energy, particularly during long-term operation. Additionally, multi-busbar technology improves current collection from the cells and increases light absorption, which translates to more stable energy production, even under partial shading. As a result, the panel makes better use of available operating conditions, regardless of the time of day.

Better performance in high temperatures


A temperature coefficient of power of -0.29%/°C means the panel loses less efficiency on hot days than standard modules. In practice, this translates to higher energy yields in the summer, when the system operates most intensively. Additionally, IP68-rated weather resistance ensures greater operational safety. The panel also features low degradation—a maximum of 1% in the first year and 0.4% annually in subsequent years. As a result, energy production remains at a predictable level for a long time. The manufacturer provides a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year power output warranty, confirming the solution’s long-term durability.

Durability thanks to the glass-glass construction


1.6 mm thick double-sided glass on the front and back increases the module’s resistance to external factors. This construction improves mechanical strength, as evidenced by its resistance to snow loads of up to 5,400 Pa and wind loads of up to 4,000 Pa. Additionally, the use of glass with an anti-reflective coating enhances light transmission, which directly impacts performance. Thanks to its compact dimensions and standard design, the panel performs well in both residential and commercial installations. The dual-glass design in this model is primarily responsible for increased durability and resistance, rather than for bifacial operation; therefore, it should be treated as a monofacial module.

Parameters tailored to the installation


The module operates at an operating voltage of approximately 44.6 V and an operating current of 10.09 A, allowing it to be used in standard PV system configurations. The short-circuit current is 10.74 A; therefore, when selecting inverters or other system components, it is advisable to check their permissible operating ranges. The panel is equipped with cables approximately 1100 mm long (in a vertical orientation), which facilitates planning the cable routing on the roof.
